As a veteran’s organization we searched the area to find an organization that is effective in helping veterans who are suffering from PTSD, and found none. So we, as individuals, created one.
Veterans who have honorably served our country are returning home with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), only to find Veterans Administration (VA), is overwhelmed, counseling is miles away, sporatic, and often with a different counselor each session. A 2010 VA study states that 22 veterans commit suicide each day. We have declared THAT’s ENOUGH!
The “Veterans Cause” was created to provide theater specific, (i.e. Iraq, Afghanistan, and Vietnam), for veterans in need in Dauphin, Cumberland, Perry, and northern York Counties. Group sessions will be rotated throughout the region on a regular basis to give all interested veterans access to this needed service. The Legions and other veterans organizations are quickly coming on board providing rooms for counseling and other accommodations.
All donations will be put toward counselor counseling, group counseling, individual counseling, awareness, and PA Wounded Warriors Inc. All donations will be invested locally.
We need your help to finance the training of these counselors, financing the counseling, and awareness so these Wounded Warriors can get the help they need anytime they need it. Our goal is to have a group session available, theater specific every week. Individual counseling will be conducted as the counselor and veteran agree.
